the handmaid's words

Found myself rereading "The Handmaid's Tale" due to the all the references to the current political climate, and also the upcoming Hulu series which looks amazing! Here are some of my favorite quotes from the novel ...

“Ignoring isn’t the same as ignorance, you have to work at it.”

“Better never means better for everyone... It always means worse, for some.”

“I am not your justification for existence.”

“A rat in a maze is free to go anywhere, as long as it stays inside the maze.”

“You can't help what you feel but you can help how you behave.”

“There's always something to occupy the inquiring mind.”

“Whatever is silenced will clamor to be heard, though silently.”

“I believe in the resistance as I believe there can be no light without shadow; or rather, no shadow unless there is also light.”

“Nolite te bastardes carborundorum. Don't let the bastards grind you down.”

“Freedom, like everything else, is relative.”
